WOW - 'Boys Rule by Anita

Hi, Anita here!
It's my WOW this week & I'm sharing with
you the Crate Paper 'Boys Rule' PL kit
in the SFS store.
This kit contains the Journaling Cards,
cardstock sticker sheets & die cut Vellum shapes.

I've created a PL spread (this is a WRMK sleeve).
There were still a few more cards remaining,
you could easily create another spread or two.

With the the die-cuts & stickers, it was
easy to add layers & extra details to my cards.

Here's a few close ups:

You can find the kit HERE
Thanks for popping by :)

Step by Step with Charm...

Hello Everyone!
It's my turn to create a layout Step by Step!

I have used the fabulous
Carta Bella - It's a Celebration Kit
- only $25 in the SFS shop HERE!

Step One: Creating Background
I created my background by using a White Cardstock and a few splats at the top of the page using my newest LOVE Tim Holtz Distress Stains - Squeezed Lemonade

If you've never attempted splats I suggest you practise on a scrap piece of paper first. I decided to try to create the "candle light" effect.

Step Two: Photo Matte and Paper Layering
While that dries, I matted my photo, which is an Instagram square photo, but you can quite easily adapt using a 6x4 landscape photo. I cut a piece from the "Happy Birthday" Music paper 7x5in, making sure I cut the piece where there are the coloured streamers/stars in the bottom left corner of the paper. I've then matted this paper with the red/white striped paper.

I've attached my photo with double sided tape to the right side.

I've cut another piece of paper from the "Happy Birthday" Music paper approximately 13cm {just over 5in} This time I have used the blue side attaching it about 6cm from the bottom of the layout.

Using the opposite side of the red/white striped patterned paper, I have measured a piece 17x18cm, using minimal double sided tape I have attached it approximately 7cm from the top of the page and about 2cm from the right hand side of the layout.

I have then positioned my photo matte 4cm from the right side of the layout and about 9cm from the top of the layout.

Step Three: Embellishments and Title
Using the Cardstock Stickers from the kit, I have attached the camera to the right side of the photo overlapping it. Then using other cardstock stickers to embellish, including the "Birthday" Cardstock sticker as part of the title and the awesome Thickers for the "Happy" part of the title.

Step Four: Sewing
To secure the patterned papers down better, I have machine stitched around the edge of the Photo-Matte, but only the top, right hand side and the bottom. I machine stitched around the edge of the blue paper and also around the edge of the layout {you can omit this, or add doodling if you wish!}

I also stuck this Journalling card from the kit too {which I machine-stitched around the edge too}

Step Five: Create a Hidden Journalling/Photo Card
Using two patterned papers - the blue paper measuring 17cmx10cm, and the blue/white paper measuring 9cmx17.5cm create the backing for the pull out hidden journalling/photos card.

I've added a leftover strip from the "Happy Birthday" Music Note paper, a couple of smaller photos and added a few more Cardstock Stickers. The "present" was perfect to use as the "tab" which I have stuck to the left, so that overhangs. I stuck another little patterned paper behind it so it wasn't sticky at the back.

I added journalling and machine stitched around the edges of the patterned papers as well...

it then slips behind the Photo Matte as you can see...

Step Six: Finishing it off
I couldn't go without adding my usual twine

I loved using this kit and I hope you enjoyed my Step by Step! I have created another 3 layouts and two cards with the Kit with enough to make another card or even two!

I would LOVE to see your creations using my Step by Step! Please link it up here so that I can see!

Road Test with Echo Park 'My Life'

Hi girls,

This month I am road testing one of the new Echo Park Mini Kits called 'My Life.'

In the kit, you get 6 double sided papers (2 each of 3 designs). Here is a sneek of one side..

And this is the other side..

I love papers that have the cut apart sheets..they can be used for journalling, to ground titles and embellishments or even for Project Life :)

And lastly there is a 6 x 12 sticker sheet...

Here is my first page...

And this is my second. I enjoyed creating a grid/Project Life like design for this page using that one cut apart sheet.

I hope you like what I have created. If you would like to buy this kit you can find it in the shop HERE..

Thanks for stopping by

It's my turn!

Hello scrappers!

It is my turn for WOW this week and I want to share with you some layouts that I have done with the super cute

Isn't it gorgeous???
And ONLY $20

Late last year my baby sister had her first bubba and this range is just perfect to document Lachlan's first few months.

I couldn't believe the photo my sister sent me when I asked for updated photos... his little jump suit was perfect for this paper!

With little internet surfing I also found a cute elephant to cut out with my Silhouette that matches the paper, what a lucky find!

cute hey???

We have a few of these kits left in the store. And as an added gift to you from me, I have cut 3 sizes of this elephant to add to your kit... the catch is that you have to leave a message in the comment section that says that you saw the elephants on the blog... easy hey??

Happy Scrapping

WOW..Creating depth in your layouts

Hi Scrappers,

It's Kel here with our weekly instalment of...

Today Im using more of my DT kit which features the new Echo Park which you lovely ladies that purchased this kit can follow along with (or use your own supplies) to follow these steps to create more depth with your layouts.

I have also used THIS new Crafters Workshop template...LOOOVVEE!!!

For my first layer, I used ink in corresponding colours and my template to create my first layer.

Here it is finished..

To create another layer, I added some stamping..

Next, I layered some papers under my photo, the more layers, the more depth.

Now I added some washi tape ..a great and inexpensive way to add more layers..

Now its time to add embellishments and your title.

And it's finished. Why don't you have a go at creating your own page with lots of layers?

Kel :)
